Legal Affairs Department

 

The Legal Affairs Department is one of the departments that support the Management Committee. This department reports directly to the Chairman of Management Committee according to the approved organizational chart of the company, and as stipulated in the Exploration and Production Sharing Agreement. This department consists of several sections that report directly to its manager.

Tasks of Legal Affairs Department

  • Follow up on cases brought against the company before the courts, defend the interests and rights of the company, and prepare defense memoranda and documents necessary to determine the company's position before the courts.
  • Provision of the legal, labor, financial, administrative advice (oral and written) to the chairman of management committee, management committee and all departments of the company.
  • Participating in membership of all the company’s committees in order to apply the law correctly.
  • Investigating the financial and administrative violations, investigating, and resolving any disputes rise among company’s employees, and providing recommendations for the proper procedures as per the law.

  • Preparing the necessary responses to the requests of the supervisory authorities in the country “Administrative Control Authority, Audit Bureau, Anti-corruption, Judiciary, Taxes and others.
  • Proposing and amending the regulations applicable in the company as per work requirements.
  • Drafting the contracts concluded by the company and referring them to the finance department for payment.
  • Drafting and preparing minutes of the General Assembly meetings of the company to be referred to the National Oil Corporation.
